Nutzungsbedingungen

Terms of use

Convenience translation; the German version is authoritative.

1. What this is

“Where to eat?” is a free web app that shows places to eat in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main area on a map and helps you choose. The provider is Alice Shih (see the Impressum). By using the app you accept these terms. You do not need an account or to sign in.

2. Use

You may use the app privately and for your own purposes. Please do not use it in a way that disrupts it, for example large-scale automated fetching or attacks on the site.

The app is offered free of charge. There is no right to it being available at all times, and features may change or be removed.

3. Information about places

The information (opening hours, addresses, cuisine, accessibility, stops and more) comes from open data sources, is collected by volunteers, merged automatically and partly corrected by us. It can be out of date, incomplete or wrong, and places that have closed may still be shown. Please check anything important (opening hours, accessibility, allergens) with the venue itself before you go. Where the data comes from and under which licences is listed on About and data.

4. Liability

We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential duties (duties you may rely on in an offer like this) and then only for typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise liability is excluded as far as the law allows. Mandatory statutory rights, especially those of consumers, are not affected.

5. Your notes, lists and account

Notes and stars you save for places stay only in your browser on your device (see the privacy notice). We cannot see or restore them. If you clear browser data or switch devices, they are gone unless you use the optional account.

You create an account by signing in with Google. You are responsible for the security of your Google account and do not share your account with others. You can delete your account in the app under “Account” at any time. We may block or delete an account that is misused, for example to disrupt the app.

6. Reports and messages to us

When you report a problem or write to us, please enter only information you want to share with us and no third parties’ data. We may use your hints to improve the data. You receive no payment and have no right to a reply or a change.

7. Copyright

The program, design and texts of the app are protected by copyright; all rights reserved. The data about places is subject to the licences of its sources (for example © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL) and is listed on About and data; those licences apply to it, not our copyright.

8. Links to other sites

The operators of external sites the app links to (for example Google Maps or the venues’ websites) are responsible for their content.

9. Changes and law

We may change these terms and the app. The version on this page at the time you use the app applies. German law applies; mandatory consumer protection rules of the country you live in are not affected. If you have questions, contact us through the details in the Impressum.
